Congregational Meeting

Dear Church family,

The Session of Christ Community Church is sending you this letter to inform you about the next step in the search for the new pastor that the Lord has prepared for us. Throughout the pastoral search, we are partnering with McGowan Global Institute – an organization that specializes in pastoral searches, particularly within the PCA.

As announced on Sunday, the next step is to select a Pastoral Search Committee (PSC). The PSC consists of representation from the elders, the deacons, and the congregation at large. The time commitment is about 4-5 hours per week. Most of that will involve personally reviewing applicants' sermons and other materials at home. Weekly virtual (or, occasionally, in-person) meetings will also be required. It is important that the PSC represents the Church broadly as it relates to gender, age, membership (“old timers” and “newcomers”), families, etc. Members can nominate a CCC member, including themselves, to serve on this committee by sending us a name and a brief description of why you think this person would be a good candidate. Please confirm that the person you are nominating is willing and able to serve on the committee. You can email your nomination to us at: elders@cccpalmbeach.com. Alternatively, you can give one of us a paper note with this information. The deadline for sending the nominations is Tuesday April 8 at 11:59 pm and no nominations will be accepted after this deadline. After receiving the nominations, the Session will present a slate with names that the Session believes will represent the Church in a balanced way. This slate will be voted on by the Congregation at a Congregational meeting on Sunday April 13.

Our most important call to all of you is the call to pray. We are in a time of transition, but we can cling to God’s promises. The Bible tells us that “Christ is the same, yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) and that “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8). The Lord cares for His Church and He will sustain us and provide for us. As you pray, please pray for the PSC, the Church staff, the Elders & Deacons, the guest preachers that will serve us in the coming months, and all the amazing CCC volunteers. Pray that during this process, we will mature in our faith, continue to tell others about the Gospel, and love one another. Lastly, pray for our beloved Pastor Peter as he seeks God’s guidance for his next chapter.

In Christ,

The Session of Christ Community Church
